José is Emeritus Professor on the School of Engineering of Oporto Polytechnic and EFG Medal of Merit 2016 and also a past Professor at ISEP (School of Engineering/Politechnic of Oporto). His main research/working area involves groundwater engineering, hard rock hydrogeology, hydrogeology and geothermal energy and environmental hydrogeology. He has managed several projects in Portugal, Spain, Angola, Mozambique and in other countries. He is a member of the EFG Panel of Experts on Hydrogeology.
